I am leaving in the morning for staging! It is still very surreal. I will miss everyone very very much, and I hope we are all able to stay in touch!!
I feel like I got to do most of what I wanted before I left...saw Chris Pureka, Ms. Led, went to the ocean, and eastern washington. It has been a crazy last few weeks! I feel like I have forgotten something important, but I just don't know what....hopefully it is all in my head!
Well, I am going to attempt to get some sleep...but who I am I kidding, I haven't really slept in like three days!
My next post will be from Jordan after I get my blog approved! Wish me luck!

You're lucky to be heading to Jordan, Rachel. I'm still a long way off from being able to join the PC, but my heart jumps for your placement! I'd love to hear what skills you have that the Jordanian government decided to invite you as it would help me to prepare for the future. I'm dying to return to Jordan!!
I'm betting you'll be initially placed in Irbid once you get there as that seems to be the most common area to start off in. If you do, look for the infamous butcher shop (it's when you're heading out of town and towards the local dam for a picnic) with the gutted carcas of the meat du jour with the lovely boquet of flowers sticking out of the tail end. It's truly a funny sight to see, and with a picture worth a thousand words, no one will believe you without one!
Do yourself a favor - when they turn you loose on University Street in Irbid, go and order a very tasty sandwich called an "araby" and take a bite for me. You will come to love those, laban/leban (yogurt), sharwarmeh, and khanfeh. When you're placed in a host family house, ask for maqgloobeh ("mack-glue-bah") and kuftah/kafta and you'll be in food heaven!
